Belt Splicer (Conveyors) – Montague Gardens, Cape Town – R10 000 per month

Hands-on Belt Splicer required for conveyor belt installation, repairs and maintenance in an industrial environment.
Requirements:
  • Matric or relevant technical/engineering qualification advantageous.
  • Previous experience working in a mechanical, engineering, maintenance or conveyor environment.
  • Experience with conveyor belts, belt repairs, maintenance or belt splicing will be advantageous.
  • Must be comfortable working with hand tools and power tools.
  • Mechanically minded with a practical, hands-on approach to repairs and fault finding.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights and able to work safely in elevated work areas.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual work.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety and the correct use of tools and equipment.
  • Reliable, hardworking and willing to learn.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the installation, maintenance and repair of conveyor belts and conveyor systems.
  • Carry out belt splicing, joining and repair work as required.
  • Inspect conveyor belts for wear, damage and potential faults.
  • Assist with removing and replacing damaged or worn conveyor belt sections.
  • Use hand tools, power tools and relevant workshop equipment safely and correctly.
  • Assist with general mechanical repairs and maintenance on conveyor-related equipment.
  • Work at heights when required while following all prescribed safety procedures.
  • Support technicians and engineering staff with onsite installations and repair work.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and kept in good working condition.
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures and wear the required PPE.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Complete additional workshop, maintenance and site duties as required.
