Introduction
An established guesthouse in the heart of Cape Town is seeking a professional, organized and guest-focused Guest House Co-ordinator. This hands-on position is ideal for someone who enjoys creating memorable guest experiences while ensuring that daily operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome guests and manage check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Handle reservations, enquiries, requests and guest feedback professionally.
  • Coordinate housekeeping, laundry and general maintenance requirements.
  • Prepare staff schedules, allocate duties and monitor service standards.
  • Maintain inventory and manage purchasing within the approved budget.
  • Ensure rooms and shared areas are presented to a consistently high standard.
  • Promote the guesthouse through online booking platforms and social media.
  • Assist with resolving guest concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety and hospitality requirements.
  • Support the smooth day-to-day running of the guesthouse.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Previous experience in guesthouse, hotel, lodge or hospitality operations.
  • Experience with reservation or booking management systems.
  • Good working knowledge of social media and online booking platforms.
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
  • Strong organizational, leadership and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to supervise staff and manage several priorities simultaneously.
  • Professional, proactive and attentive to detail.
  • Able to remain calm and effective in a busy guest-facing environment.
  • Willing and available to work weekends and public holidays when required.
