COMPLIANCE AND CORPORATE GOVERNANCE MANAGER
 
Location: Welgemoed, Cape Town
Work arrangement: Remote / Work-from-home with flexible working hours
Reporting to: WCID Board of Directors
 
 
ABOUT THE POSITION

Welgemoed City Improvement District NPC (WCID) invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced and highly organised professionals for the position of Compliance and Corporate Governance Manager.

This position is ideally suited to a professional who is detail-oriented, proactive, independent and committed to accountability, transparency and good governance within a Non-Profit Company (NPC) and City Improvement District (CID) environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Corporate Governance and Company Secretarial Functions
• Regulatory and Legislative Compliance
• Risk Management and Internal Controls
• Policy Development and Oversight
• Procurement, Contracts and Service-Level Agreements
• Management and Administration
• Stakeholder Engagement and Communications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• A bachelor’s degree in Law, Public Administration, Commerce or a related field.
• Four to eight years’ relevant experience in compliance, corporate governance, company secretarial, legal or regulatory roles.
• A sound understanding of governance requirements for Non-Profit Companies (NPCs).
• Knowledge of the Companies Act 71 of 2008 and relevant corporate governance principles.
• An understanding of municipal regulatory frameworks and CID/SRA operations.
• Experience in an NPC, municipality or CID/SRA environment will be an advantage.
