Massingir Area – Mozambique: An exciting opportunity has opened up for a hands-on Packhouse Manager to lead the establishment and management of a brand-new citrus packhouse operation. This facility will service 500ha of citrus, planted over the past five years, and process fruit for local and international export markets.
 
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of packhouse operations, including managing production processes, labour, logistics, procurement, and compliance, while ensuring efficiency, cost control, and world-class quality standards.
This is a start-up operation backed by experienced agricultural partners, offering an opportunity to be part of a well-funded and rapidly growing citrus business in Mozambique. For the right candidate, there is a clear path for career growth into senior leadership roles within the group.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• 5–10 years’ packhouse management experience (preferably in citrus)
• Proven track record in packhouse establishment, operations, labour management, procurement & logistics
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude; knowledge of citrus processing & packaging essential
• Good financial acumen (budgets, cost management, reporting)
• Ability to manage and motivate a large workforce
• Understanding and experience in GlobalGAP-compliant packhouses
• Sound knowledge of export logistics (handling up to 1000 loads annually)
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture or related field (advantageous)
• Multilingual ability (Shangaan, Tsonga, Zulu, Portuguese) will be an added advantage
