Cradock Area – Eastern Cape: Our client is looking for a dedicated and forward-thinking Farm Manager – Livestock to join the team.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing and managing the activities relevant to the livestock of the farm.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 

• Matric
• Tertiary education, NQF Level 5 or higher
• Experience with the following preferred:
  • Regenerative Agricultural Practices
  • Livestock Farming and Pasture Management
  • Farm equipment and infrastructure development & maintenance
  • Advancing farming practices with technology
  • Compliance with Labour Law and Occupational Health and Safety
  • Staff Skills Development

 
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
 

• Ensure compliance with governing regulations and standards with regards to the livestock enterprise and farming business as a whole
• Record and maintain livestock data on livestock management software (Current platforms include AgriWebb & Tru-Test RFID)
• Manage flock/herd health, FAMACHA treatments
• Maintain inventory for veterinary and feed supplies
• Manage livestock movements in pastures and veld
• Develop and implement long term veld and pasture management strategies
• Manage and maintain livestock infrastructure
• Marketing and sales of stock
• Manage breeding program for both sheep and cattle
• Maintain RWS certification and shearing program
• Supervise livestock staff and their training requirements
