Lichtenburg Area – North West: Our client is looking for a Maintenance Farm Foreman to join the team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate (preference will be given to candidate with a boiler-making & electrical experience).
• Valid driver’s license (truck driving license will be an added advantage).
• At least 5 years of working experience, working independently, executing farm equipment maintenance and repairs in agricultural business.
• Having worked on an arable farm, and understanding basics of crop production
• Experience in maintaining irrigation systems.

•  Diesel mechanic

• Electrician skills (automotive, and 2/3 phase)
• Irrigation system maintenance
• Agricultural GPS systems
• Operating Farm machinery
• Basis understanding of Crop production.
• People management skills

 KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Ensure that maintenance & repairs farm equipment is done correct and in a timely manner. Drive a safety culture within the workshop to prevent safety incidents and achieve 0 Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) through the Safety Interactions and Good Catches. 
• Keep farmyard, and workshop in a clean state.
• Complete farm irrigation system maintenance and repairs on time and avoid repeat failures. Supervise staff and field operations in absence of the farm manager. 
• Ensure equipment is maintained in a safe order by putting guards and covers in place
