Dalat City area – Vietnam: Our client is looking for a Greenhouse Vegetable Production Specialist to join the team.

Due to the location of the farm this position will best suit a candidate with no kids.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 

• BSc Agric (Agronomy/Horticulture) or relevant four-year BSc degree in Agriculture/Soil Science (relevant three-year degree and a relevant Hons)
• Must have hands-on experience with growing vegetable in greenhouses
  • Experience with hydroponic vegetable production is an advantage
  • Experience with Integrated Pest Management and use of Biological Control Agents is an advantage
• Previous nursery management experience advantageous
• Experience with implementing extension services and training of farmers is an advantage

• Must have excellent knowledge of horticulture crops as well as previous experience having analysed trial data from field trials and field-testing as well as having developed methodologies within horticultural crops.

• Technical sales experience

• Computer literate
• Being maintenance orientated essential
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Strong leadership skills and able to motivate team
• Valid driver’s license
• Valid passport

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
 
Agricultural research

• Research design:
  • Design trials and or surveys
• Data gathering:
  • Collecting data from a variety of sources, including field trials
  • Implementing desk and field research
• Data Analysis:
  • Analysing and interpreting data to formulate conclusions and recommendations
  • Using written and oral reports, graphs, charts and diagrams to present findings to clients
  • Writing detailed reports

 
Enhance agricultural production systems

• Based on research results identify interventions to enhance agricultural supply chains
• Development and implement strategies to integrate interventions into existing agricultural supply chains to enhance their performance
• Develop and provide training to farmers and farmer groups
• Arrange field days to share new knowledge and technologies to local farmers and other interested persons

 
Market development of technologies and products

• Organize field days to introduce and promote the technologies we distribute in Vietnam
• Support the development of descriptions of our technologies and products, as part of catalogues, brochures, or other communication tools as well as for support of the commercial sales
• Support the development of manuals and protocols to advise our clients on the use of our technologies and products
• Provide technical support to our clients wherever required

 
Project management and reporting

• Manage the assigned activities within a project
• Report to the direct supervisor project activities and results
