Swakopmund Area – Namibia: Our client is looking for a Tissue Culture Lab Manager to join the team.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Master’s degree in microbiology, Botany, Biotechnology, or a related field
  • Management or Business Administration certification (preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years in tissue culture propagation and laboratory management
  • MS Office, GMP, ISO, laboratory management software
 
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
 
Tissue Culture & Plant Propagation
  • Expertise in aseptic techniques and in-vitro propagation processes
  • Ensuring high-yield, disease-free plant material production
  • Adapting and refining tissue culture protocols for different plant species
Research & Innovation
  • Identifying and implementing new developments in tissue culture
  • Introducing and supervising new plant species for commercial propagation
  • Collaborating with research institutions for ongoing innovations
Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Ensuring compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
  • Implementing and maintaining ISO laboratory standards
  • Managing sterility and contamination control protocols
Data Management & Reporting
  • Maintaining accurate records of plant material production and costs
  • Generating weekly reports for management on lab performance and research outcomes
  • Using data-driven insights to optimize propagation processes
Training & Leadership
  • Training lab personnel on tissue culture best practices
  • Conducting knowledge-sharing sessions with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Supervising assistants to ensure high productivity and quality standards
Operational Efficiency & Equipment Maintenance
  • Ensuring laboratory equipment is well-maintained and calibrated
  • Monitoring climate conditions in the growth room for optimal plant development
  • Developing operational strategies for process optimization
