Brits Area – North West: Our client is looking for a Mechanic to join the team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Qualified Diesel/Petrol Mechanic (Trade Test preferred).  
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in an agricultural or workshop environment.
• Valid driver’s license (Code 8/10); Code 14 and PDP advantageous.
• Familiarity with farming implements and irrigation systems preferred.

 
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
 

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to diagnose and repair diesel and petrol engines, hydraulics, and transmissions.
• Welding, fabrication, and electrical fault-finding experience advantageous.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and high standards of workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.

 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 

• Conduct routine servicing, repairs, and maintenance on tractors, bakkies, trucks, implements, and irrigation pumps.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults and perform corrective repairs.
• Ensure that all maintenance and repair work is completed timeously and documented.
• Keep accurate service and repair records for all equipment and vehicles.
• Manage and maintain workshop tools, equipment, and consumables.
• Assist in sourcing parts and liaising with suppliers for quotations and deliveries.
• Support field breakdowns and perform on-site repairs as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the workshop area at all times.
• Comply with all farm safety regulations and use PPE appropriately.
• Report repeated faults, equipment misuse, or negligence to management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance systems and schedules.
