Patensie Area – Eastern Cape: Our client is looking for a Production Manager to join the team.

The successful candidate will manage the technical aspects of citrus and greenhouse production.
 
The role requires expert planning, execution and monitoring of core farming processes such as pest control, fertilization, irrigation, as well as the development and management of planting programs, cultivar trials and production quality.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 

• Tertiary qualification in Agriculture advantageous
• At least 3 years’ experience in farming
• Strong computer skills
• Good interpersonal and leadership skills

 
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
 

• Plan, monitor and schedule pest control
• Develop and implement planting programs
• Monitor quality of planting work within greenhouses
• Monitor and implement cultivar trials and production
• Purchase and management of pest control agents and fertilizers
• Management of technical personnel
• Implementation and handling of all farming-related audits, including Global GAP, Farming for the Future, DAFF and Siza Environmental
• Draft and training of standard procedures
• Draft and training of duty statements
• Application of disciplinary standards
