Moorreesburg Area – Western Cape: Our client is looking for a Farm Manager to join the team.

The role requires expert planning, execution and monitoring of core farming processes such as planting, harvesting, pest control, fertilization and maintenance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Tertiary qualification in agriculture would be advantageous
• At least 3 years’ experience in the cultivation of wheat and general animal husbandry (sheep and cattle)
• Knowledge of modern production practices
• Specific experience in driving and operating machinery with GPS guidance systems
• Good leadership and communication skills
• Cleanliness

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
Production

• Plant wheat, apply fertilizer, weed, pest, and plague control, harvest, monitoring, all manipulations
• Purchase and management of pest control agents and fertilizers
• Maintenance of equipment and farm infrastructure in general

Personnel and administration

• Labour planning, management and recordkeeping

Financial

• Cost control by focusing on productivity
