Humansdorp Area – Eastern Cape: An exciting opportunity awaits a driven, hands-on Farm Manager to lead the growth of a rapidly scaling commercial ostrich operation. This farm is on a mission to become a major player in the production of premium ostrich meat, leather, and feathers for both local and global markets.
You’ll be at the forefront of expanding production, improving performance metrics, managing breeding programs, and leading a growing team. With a strong focus on profitability, biosecurity, and operational efficiency, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 

• Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, or related field preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing livestock or ostrich farms
• Strong leadership and operational management skills
• Knowledge of commercial farming and export procedures a plus
• Must be hands-on, driven, and able to work independently

 
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

• Oversee daily operations of the ostrich farm
• Develop and implement breeding and feeding programs
• Manage animal health and biosecurity protocols
• Supervise and train farm staff
• Maintain and improve infrastructure and equipment
• Budgeting, cost control, and maximizing profit margins
• Ensure compliance with relevant agricultural regulations
• Coordinate with suppliers, buyers, and transporters
• Report regularly to the owner on performance and developments
