A progressive agricultural company in the Burgersfort area is looking for a hands-on, driven Blueberry Production Manager to take full ownership of their berry production cycle. From planting and harvesting to irrigation, fertigation, and pest control – your expertise will be key to achieving higher yields and boosting operational efficiency.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 

• Tertiary qualification in agriculture, horticulture or Agronomy would be an advantage
• At least 3 years of relevant experience, including team management
• Strong technical knowledge in IPM, fertilization practices and irrigation
• Good administrative and computer skills (MS Office especially Excel)
• Must be someone with a central interest and commitment to sustainable agriculture has
• Must have a keen eye for detail and plant health, to assess and manage it carefully
• Emotionally intelligent, performs well under pressure and adapts well to changing circumstances
• A natural leader who pursues discipline and operational excellence

 
 
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
 

• Complete management of production activities: planting, pruning, irrigation, nutrition, pest, and disease control, and harvesting procedures
• Daily management of a large and diverse team of farm workers with an emphasis on training and productivity
• Maintaining good management practices, accuracy in record keeping, cost control and preparation for audits
• Monitoring and maintenance of infrastructure and equipment
• Liaison with owners/stakeholders on production, outputs, and strategic planning
