Stellenbosch Area – Western Cape: This medium-sized farm and are looking for an experienced packhouse manager to run their small/medium-sized packhouse which packs fruit for the export market.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 

• Fully bilingual with good communication skills.
• Have a proven track record in all aspects of packhouse management from fruit intake to containerization.
• Have thorough knowledge of the computerized Vitrax system relating to the entire packhouse cycle
• Be familiar with a 4-lane pack line with optical sorter and have a basic mechanical knowledge
• Manage all cold room facilities
• Ensure that the packhouse complies with all fruit and export industry protocols and industry standards such as BRC, Global gap, etc.
• Supervise and manage a staff complement of 100 persons during the season
• Have strong organizational and administrative skills
• Be comfortable liaising with farm managers, suppliers, marketers and exporters.
• Be able to determine packaging requirements and order accordingly
