IT TECHNICIAN INTERN
JHB (AMSA Vanderbijlpark)

Gijima is recruiting 1 x IT Technician intern for their Amsa in Vanderbijlpark for an Internship program.

The criteria is as follows:-

• Candidates must have completed a 3-year tertiary qualification in IT (i.e. Diploma in IT Networks ; Support Services, Computer Systems Bsc. in IT .)
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Candidates must be computer literate and must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, e-mail, internet
• No criminal record
• Candidates must currently be unemployed
• Candidates must not be participating on another learnership or internship program
• Candidates must currently not be enrolled with any other tertiary institution
• Candidates must live in JHB Vanderbijlpark preferably (relocation is NOT an option)
• Candidates must be under the age of 35 as of 31 August 2025
• Candidates must be a South African Citizen – African, Coloured and Indian

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS REQUIRED:-

• IT Diploma
• CompTIA A+
• CompTIA N+
• Relevant OEM certification (HP,Dell,Lenovo.)
• ITIL v3 Foundations Certificate (advantageous)
• Cisco Essentials
• MCSE (advantageous)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• End user support - Resolve logged incidents as per client contract
• Deliver customer service - Communicate, dress, and display positive attitude
• Quality incident resolution - Ensure incident is resolved on first contact within SLA
• Compliance to pending rules - Ensure compliance to pending rules is followed
• Quality data input - Ensure that data captured on Resolve IT incident/task is accurate and according to ITIL standards
• Preventative maintenance - Identifies possible risks and reports to Team Lead
• Deploy, Monitor, Repair, Support and Manage Desktop & Notebook Hardware, Manage Windows Operating Systems, Office Automation Software, Printers, Scanners, Faxes
• Setup desktop computers and peripherals and test network connections, install software for various applications and programs
• Ask targeted questions to diagnose problems
