FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER INTERN – NEWCASTLE (KZN)

Gijima is recruiting a Field Service Engineer Intern for their offices in Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal.

The criteria is as follows:-

• Candidates must have completed a 3-year tertiary qualification in IT (i.e. Diploma in IT; Support Services, Computer Systems, Bsc. in IT )
• A valid driver’s license will be an advantage
• Candidates must be computer literate and must be proficient in the MS Office Suite, Access, e-mail, internet
• No criminal record
• Must currently be unemployed
• Must not be participating on another learnership or internship program
• Must currently not be enrolled with any other tertiary institution
• Must currently live in the Newcastle area (relocation is NOT an option)
• Must be under the age of 35 as of 31 July 2026
• Must be a South African Citizen – African, Coloured and Indian

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS REQUIRED:-

• IT Diploma
• CompTIA A+ and N+
• Relevant OEM certifications (HP, Dell, Lenovo)
• ITIL v3 Foundations Certificate (advantageous)
• Cisco Essentials

RESPONSIBILITIES

• End user support - Resolve logged incidents
• Communicate, dress, and display positive attitude
• Ensure incident is resolved on first contact within SLA
• Ensure compliance to pending rules is followed
• Quality data input - Ensure that data captured on Resolve IT incident is accurate
• Preventative maintenance - Identify possible risks
• Deploy, Monitor, Repair, Support & Manage Desktop, Manage Windows Operating Systems, Office Automation Software, Printers, Scanners
• Setup desktops & peripherals & test network connections, install software
