As the key point of contact for customers, you must have a strong technical ability to provide pre- and post-sales technical advice, answer queries, and demonstrate how new products and/or services will address customer needs. An engineering background or experience in the mechanical engineering field is advantageous to help you understand our customers and the industry's challenges.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth technical discussions with prospective customers to understand their requirements and challenges.
- Develop customised proposals that address customer needs and align with our products and services offerings.
- Deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations to showcase the features and benefits of our products and services.
- Develop strategic account plans and identify new business opportunities.
- Provide post-sales support and technical assistance to customers as needed.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
- Give demonstrations, training, and presentations to help customers discover and understand products/services.
- Liaise with existing customers.
- Prepare tenders, proposals, and quotations.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions.
- Review cost and sales performance.
- Write reports and sales literature.
- Attend trade exhibitions, conferences, and meetings.
- Ensure that sales targets are met.
Qualifications:
- Experience in technical sales or engineering roles.
- Strong technical background with the ability to understand complex technical concepts and articulate them effectively to audiences. Degree in Engineering or a related field is advantageous.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a technical environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
