Gijima Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a client for a Technical Specialist: Mainframe (SYSPROG) to provide expert-level support and guidance in the management, maintenance, and optimization of mainframe systems and applications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting mainframe environments through installation, troubleshooting of complex technical issues, implementation of system enhancements, and ensuring overall system performance, stability, and reliability.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 (NQF 4)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in:
    • Mainframe systems administration
    • Mainframe support
    • Mainframe development
  • Strong understanding of mainframe technologies and architectures
  • Experience with automation tools and practices for mainframe operations
  • Knowledge of cloud computing and hybrid cloud solutions within mainframe environments
  • Relevant certifications, such as IBM Certified Specialist, will be advantageous
