Purpose Of The Job:
A well-established passenger vehicle dealership in Gqeberha is seeking an experienced and dynamic Workshop Foreman to lead and support a busy service department. This role requires a qualified technician with proven foreman experience within a franchised motor dealership environment, capable of driving workshop productivity, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily workshop operations to maximize efficiency and productivity
• Provide technical support and guidance to technicians and apprentices
• Manage workshop loading, job allocation, and workflow planning
• Ensure repair and maintenance work is completed to manufacturer and dealership standards
• Monitor productivity, efficiency, and workshop performance targets
• Conduct quality control inspections on completed work
• Assist with the diagnosis of complex technical issues when required
• Work closely with Service Advisors and Parts Department staff to ensure seamless customer service
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and manufacturer requirements
• Mentor, train, and develop workshop staff
• Assist in achieving departmental profitability and customer satisfaction objectives

Minimum Requirements:

• Qualified Motor Vehicle Technician (Red Seal Trade Test essential)
• Previous experience as a Workshop Foreman within a franchised motor dealership is essential
• Experience with a volume passenger vehicle brand
• Strong understanding of workshop productivity, efficiency, and quality control processes
• Proven track record of leading high-performing technical teams
• Strong technical knowledge of passenger vehicles
• Proven ability to manage a busy, high-volume workshop environment
• Excellent leadership and people management skills
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work under pressure and meet performance targets
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Computer literacy and experience with dealership management systems
• Valid driver's licence
