Earthmoving Projects & Construction Company based in Welkom is seeking an experienced, hands-on Project Manager to oversee construction and earthmoving projects from tender stage through to completion.
 
The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of earthmoving equipment, construction projects, site operations and project management, with the ability to manage both site and office requirements.
 
We are looking for an accountable, commercially aware professional who takes a practical approach to delivering projects.
 

Duties
 
Manage projects from tender/RFQ stage through to finalisation.
Control project budgets, costings, timelines and resources.
Oversee site operations, productivity, quality and project progress.
Lead Project Supervisors, Operators, Drivers and other project staff.
Coordinate subcontractors, construction activities, materials and equipment.
Ensure compliance with client specifications, safety requirements and quality standards.
Oversee the Fleet Manager and Workshop to ensure equipment meets project requirements.
Monitor equipment utilisation, maintenance, breakdowns and downtime.
Prepare project reports and provide regular updates to management and clients.
Oversee project administration and documentation.
Resolve operational, staffing, cost and project-related challenges.
 
Requirements:
 
Grade 12
A formal qualification will be an advantage
Proven project management experience in construction, earthmoving, mining or plant hire.
Strong knowledge of earthmoving equipment and construction site operations.
Experience managing Supervisors, Operators, Drivers and subcontractors.
Experience with tenders/RFQs, project costing and budget management.
Strong leadership, organisational, reporting and problem-solving skills.
Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel.
A valid driver’s licence.
