HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER
Location: Watloo, Pretoria

• 3–5 years' Health & Safety experience.
• Relevant Health & Safety qualification.
• Construction/scaffolding background.

ROLE OVERVIEW: 
Support the organisation's safety-first culture by ensuring health and safety documentation, inspections, training, incident records, and compliance requirements are kept up to date.
Working closely with the Head of Operations and H&S team, you will help identify risks, maintain compliance, and promote safe working practices across the workplace.

Minimum requirements:

• 3–5 years' relevant experience in a health & safety role.
• Relevant Health and Safety qualification, such as SAMTRAC or an OHS Diploma.
• Construction/Scaffolding background.
• Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act.
• Experience with Passport 360 and HSEC Online.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and administrative ability.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Compile, update, and maintain comprehensive health and safety files.
• Prepare and maintain Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and SOPs.
• Conduct regular site and floor inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Assist with logging, tracking, and investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
• Coordinate employee safety inductions and toolbox talks.
• Maintain accurate employee safety training and certification records.
• Audit and maintain first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and PPE registers.
• Monitor safety compliance and ensure required corrective actions are followed up.
• Assist with ongoing OHSA and Construction Regulations compliance.
• Prepare safety presentations, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the Head of Operations and H&S team.
• Promote a strong safety-first culture across the workplace.
