TECHNICAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Location: City Deep, Johannesburg

• Engineering Degree / Trade Test.
• 2 – 5 Years’ experience in similar role.
• Pumps / Compressors knowledge essential.
• Valid Driver’s Licence essential.

ROLE OVERVIEW:
This is a technical-commercial role focused on developing and selling higher-level engineering solutions rather than transactional product sales. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with business development to understand customer challenges, develop suitable solutions and drive opportunities through the sales process.

Minimum requirements:

• Engineering Degree or relevant Trade Test qualification.
• 2–5 years’ experience in technical sales, systems engineering, or solution selling.
• Technical knowledge of pumps and/or compressors essential.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to develop solutions for customer applications.
• Knowledge of vacuum, process or related industrial equipment advantageous.
• Ability to engage with Consulting Engineers, Contractors and technical decision-makers.
• Experience preparing technical proposals, quotations and tender submissions.
• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Valid Driver’s Licence essential.
• Willingness to travel for customer meetings and site visits.
• Ability to work closely with Engineering, Projects and Internal Sales teams.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Drive technical solution sales across specialised industrial markets.
• Identify customer requirements and develop appropriate technical solutions.
• Build and maintain relationships with Consulting Engineers, Contractors and key technical decision-makers.
• Develop new business opportunities and expand relationships with existing customers.
• Conduct regular customer meetings, sales calls and site visits.
• Engage with customers across Medical, Water and Wastewater, Food, Chemical, Pharmaceutical and other industrial markets.
• Work closely with System Engineers, Project Engineers and Internal Sales to develop customer solutions.
• Balance technical solution development with commercial ownership of the sales process.
• Provide technical input into proposals, quotations and tender submissions.
• Influence project specifications and identify opportunities for early project involvement.
• Support broader sales and business development initiatives.
• Manage and develop the sales pipeline and follow up on opportunities.
• Provide customers with professional technical and commercial support.
• Report on sales activities, pipeline development and technical project progress.
