Electrical & Instrumentation Specialist (EC&I)

Our client, a company within the industrial fuel management and production operations sector, is looking for an Electrical & Instrumentation (EC&I) Specialist to join their team . This role is suited for a technically strong and hands-on electrical professional who thrives in a fast-paced project and manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems used in production and fuel management operations. You will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable electrical infrastructure while supporting ongoing projects, installations, and operational requirements across the business. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

What we’re looking for:

  • BTech or BEng Degree in Electrical Engineering (essential)
  • 3+ years’ experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering
  • Experience within manufacturing, industrial, or fuel management environments advantageous
  • Strong understanding of electrical drawings, schematics, and control philosophies
  • Experience with panel building, installations, and fault finding
  • Knowledge of SANS, IEC, and ISA standards
  • Proficient in MS Office and electrical engineering software
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical ability
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced operational environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with suppliers, teams, and stakeholders
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to work overtime and public holidays when required

What you’ll do:

  • Design, install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Plan and coordinate daily electrical work activities and project schedules
  • Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and panels
  • Interpret electrical drawings, BOQs, and control philosophies
  • Ensure compliance with SANS, IEC, ISA, and internal quality standards
  • Resolve electrical faults, design issues, and installation challenges
  • Liaise with draughting teams to ensure accurate GA drawings and build requirements
  • Monitor and control electrical project costs and resource usage
  • Ensure job cards align with drawings, BOQs, and quotations
  • Conduct quality checks on electrical components and equipment
  • Maintain accurate documentation, filing, and project tracking records
  • Support health & safety compliance and housekeeping standards
  • Provide technical support across projects, production, and maintenance functions
