Job title: Maintenance Technician
Work Location: 7 Neil Hare Road, Atlantis 7349
Division/Department: Engineering
Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Overall Responsibility:
Conduct general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and provide functional leadership.

Main responsibilities of Focus Area:
Maintenance
-Perform maintenance on electrical / electronic installations
- Ensure proper execution and completion of all maintenance activities
- Accountable for equipment reliability and ownership of the entire maintenance process; provide guidance and oversee troubleshooting of equipment issues
- Supports Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Establish and maintain an effective spare part inventory
- Continuously support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all equipment

Procedure and Protocol Management
-Develop, refine, and document maintenance procedures
- Enforce protocol and good FMCG practices within the factory
- Foster and promote continuous improvement and root cause analysis processes

Safety Management
-Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel, and follow safety protocol
- Perform Food Safety and Quality related activities as part of the FSMS and QC functions

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Tertiary education, degree or diploma, in Electrical and/or mechanical engineering
- Passed the relevant Trade Test
- Valid unendorsed drivers’ license
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant technical experience, preferably in the Food and/or FMCG industry is required
- Experience/Certification with reliability centred maintenance preferred, (e.g. Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP))
- Familiar with electrical systems such as controls, automation, VFDs, PLCs
- Familiar with mechanical systems such as welding, part fabrication, fluid transfer, pneumatics and plumbing is highly desired
- Practical experience with high-speed packaging operations in food/beverage industries will be highly advantageous
- Good knowledge of the safety requirements
- Candidates must have their own reliable transport
- Willing to work afterhours or on weekends as per the production demands

- Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods
- Good communication and interaction skills with people on all levels in the organization.
- Ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
- Able to work on your own, unsupervised
- Willing to be challenged and work well within a team
