Junior Conveyancer & Notary

A well-established law firm is seeking a Junior Conveyancer & Notary to join their Conveyancing Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of conveyancing matters from instruction through to registration, while maintaining excellent client relationships and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Minimum requirements:

• LLB Degree
• Admitted Attorney, Conveyancer and Notary
• Minimum 3 years' post-admission experience as an Attorney, Conveyancer and Notary
• 5 years' post-admission experience advantageous
• Registered with the Legal Practice Council
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport
• Experience handling property transfers, bond registrations and bond cancellations
• Experience with deceased estate transfers advantageous
• Sound knowledge of the Deeds Registries Act, Sectional Titles Act, Companies Act and Administration of Estates Act
• Experience liaising with financial institutions regarding bond registrations and cancellations
• Strong understanding of FICA, AML compliance and SARS eFiling (Transfer Duty)
• Experience drafting conveyancing-related agreements, opinions and advisory notes
• Ability to manage conveyancing matters independently from inception to registration
• Proficient in LexisConvey, WinDeed, DeedsWeb, LawPractice, Stordoc and Microsoft Office
• Excellent drafting, communication and legal research skills
• Strong administrative, organisational and time management abilities
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Professional, client-focused and detail-oriented approach
• Willing to work overtime when required and attend to after-hours client matters
• Experience in achieving revenue and performance targets advantageous
• Interest in business development and growing client relationships
