Mechanical Fitter

💰 Salary: R10 000 – R15 000 CTC

A well-established manufacturing company is looking for a hands-on Mechanical Fitter to join their maintenance team. If you have a passion for keeping production equipment running efficiently and enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we'd like to hear from you.

Minimum Requirements:

• Trade Test as a Mechanical Fitter (preferred)
• Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Experience with mechanical maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on production machinery
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, conveyors, gearboxes, and pumps will be advantageous
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance
• Willing to work overtime or shifts when required
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport advantageous

Duties:

• Perform planned preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant machinery
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise production downtime
• Install, assemble, and maintain mechanical equipment
• Complete maintenance reports and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
• Assist with continuous improvement and plant optimisation initiatives. Typical fitter responsibilities in manufacturing include preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and equipment installation.
