RESERVATIONS MANAGER  

Cape Town: My client, an established Luxury Hotel situated in close proximity to the Cape Town International Airport, is seeking to employ a dynamic Reservations Manager to lead the reservations function, ensure the smooth coordination of all booking operations, and uphold the highest standards of guest service and efficiency.
Purpose of the Role:  The Reservations Manager is responsible for leading the reservations team and ensuring the efficient, accurate, and customer-focused management of all booking operations. The role requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of hotel reservation systems, revenue management, and guest relations.

Key Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the reservations department to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Managing, training, scheduling, and evaluating reservations staff
  • Monitoring room inventory, rates, and availability to optimise revenue
  • Implementing strategies to increase bookings across all channels, including direct, OTA, corporate, and group bookings
  • Maintaining excellent guest relations by handling inquiries and resolving issues promptly
  • Generating regular reports on reservations, occupancy, and revenue performance
  • Collaborating with front office, sales, and marketing teams to ensure seamless guest experiences
 
Criteria
 
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in hotel reservations management or a similar role
  • Strong working knowledge of Property Management Systems (PMS) and online booking platforms
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Proven leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Analytical and detail-focused, with experience in revenue optimisation
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, including weekends and public holidays when required
  • Strong hospitality background with a commitment to exceptional customer service
  • High level of proficiency in English and Afrikaans
