SENIOR RESTAURANT MANAGER

Franschhoek: My client, a contemporary, high-end dining establishment based in Franschhoek, is seeking to employ a dynamic and service-driven Senior Restaurant Manager. This role is suited to a seasoned hospitality professional who thrives in an upmarket environment, leads with confidence, and is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences while managing a high-performing front-of-house team.
Purpose of the Role: To oversee and manage all front-of-house operations, ensuring seamless service delivery, exceptional guest experiences, and alignment with the restaurant’s premium positioning, brand standards and commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To

  • Managing day-to-day restaurant operations and service standards
  • Leading, training and motivating the front-of-house team to deliver consistent, high-quality service
  • Ensuring exceptional guest experience and handling guest relations professionally and proactively
  • Overseeing reservations, floor management and service flow
  • Managing staff scheduling, attendance and performance
  • Working closely with the kitchen and senior management to ensure operational alignment
  • Maintaining brand standards, presentation and ambience throughout service
  • Managing stock, ordering, cost controls and supplier relationships
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety and liquor regulations
Criteria
  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Relevant hospitality qualification
  • Proven experience as a Senior Restaurant Manager or Restaurant Manager in an upmarket or fine-dining environment
  • Strong leadership, communication and people management skills
  • Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced service environment
  • Strong guest relations and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of hospitality operations, cost controls and service excellence
