FINANCIAL PORTFOLIO MANAGER
SECTIONAL TITLE & SCHEME ADMINISTRATION
Somerset West: Our client, a well-established property management company, is seeking an experienced Financial Portfolio Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day financial administration and management of an allocated portfolio of sectional title schemes and homeowners associations.
This is a hands-on role combining financial management, reporting, monitoring and scheme administration with direct trustee and member liaison. The position will suit a financially strong, organised and client-focused professional who takes pride in accuracy, sound financial controls and delivering a high level of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the financial administration of an allocated portfolio of sectional title and/or HOA schemes
- Maintaining professional relationships with trustees/directors and acting as the primary point of contact
- Preparing and explaining monthly financial information, reports and budget variances
- Raising monthly levies, special levies, interest and other authorised charges
- Administering supplier invoices, creditors and payment preparation
- Posting and allocating receipts, payments, journals and adjustments accurately
- Monitoring bank accounts and assisting with bank reconciliations
- Monitoring debtor accounts, levy arrears and payment arrangements
- Assisting with annual budgets, levy schedules and ongoing budget monitoring
- Preparing and assisting with monthly financial reporting and financial commentary
- Implementing authorised trustee/director financial resolutions
- Attending trustee/director meetings and assisting with meeting documentation
- Assisting with annual financial statements, audits and related schedules
- Investigating and resolving financial queries, discrepancies and irregularities
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring adherence to financial controls and governance requirements
Requirements
- Accreditation in Financial Management or a related field essential
- 2–5 years' experience in a financial administration or accounting role
- Experience within property management, sectional title, HOA or real estate will be highly advantageous
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, debtors, creditors, reconciliations, budgets and financial reporting
- Strong computer and accounting-system skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans
- Professional, service-driven and client-focused
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet strict monthly deadlines
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport
