RECEPTION & BOOKINGS CLERK (GOLF)
Somerset West: Our client a renowned five-star golf estate is seeking a professional, articulate and service-driven Reception & Bookings Clerk who will be responsible for ensuring that members and guests receive a warm and memorable welcome from the moment they arrive.
Purpose of the Role:To provide a polished and welcoming reception experience while efficiently managing bookings, telephone enquiries and general administrative functions. The successful candidate will contribute to the seamless day-to-day operation of the reception area and uphold the exceptional service standards associated with a prestigious five-star golf estate.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming and assisting members and guests in a warm, professional and friendly manner
- Managing all incoming telephone calls and directing enquiries to the relevant departments
- Coordinating restaurant, golf and event bookings and ensuring accurate records and confirmations
- Assisting with top-up and prepaid bookings
- Conducting daily cash-ups and following correct financial procedures
- Receiving deliveries and distributing them to the relevant departments
- Maintaining lost property records and assisting members with general club information
- Providing general administrative support including printing, scanning and ordering office supplies
- Assisting with first aid requirements and maintaining the reception first aid box
- Liaising with the Events Manager regarding club events and corporate functions
- Communicating event details and requirements to the relevant departments
- Maintaining a professional, organised and welcoming reception environment
- Providing exceptional customer service and ensuring guest satisfaction at all times
Criteria
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a customer service or hospitality-focused role
- Previous reception, bookings or administrative experience within a hospitality & golfing environment will be advantageous
- Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills
- Professional, well-presented and articulate
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
- Computer literate with sound knowledge of standard office software
- Customer-focused with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional service
- Able to multitask and remain calm and professional under pressure
- Reliable, flexible and able to work weekends and longer hours when required
- A positive team player who is able to work effectively with different departments
- Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans
