A family is looking for an AU PAIR / TUTOR for their daughter

Area: Victory Park
Child’s Age: 12 year old - girl (Grade 6, progressing to Grade 7)
🧠 Child’s Neurodivergence Snapshot: She has ADHD and anxiety, which have impacted her concentration and academic performance. She recently transitioned from St. Teresa’s to Bella Vista at the beginning of the third term due to declining marks, increased anxiety and difficulties with concentration. Although the transition to a co-ed school has been a significant adjustment, she is settling in well and feels more supported academically. She is an easygoing, kind and lively girl who would benefit from a consistent, reliable and supportive au pair with whom she can build a trusting relationship.
⭐ Support Style: She receives academic support, including occupational therapy and any other relevant support, through Bella Vista. She is no longer seeing an external remedial teacher or attending external therapies. She would benefit from someone who can provide structure, encouragement and patient, individualised academic support, particularly with learning difficulties and educational challenges.
Working Hours: Monday – Thursday 14:00 – 18:30
School Holiday Hours: Same as above / slightly flexible
Duties: Collect her from school, transport her to extra-murals and any other scheduled activities, assist with and supervise homework, conduct revision, help prepare for exams and assist with school projects and speeches. The au pair should provide daily academic support, help her develop effective study techniques and organisational skills, and provide structure and encouragement with her schoolwork. Assistance with preparing simple meals or cooking would be an added benefit, particularly on evenings when Mom arrives home late.
Special Requirements: The ideal Au Pair should have a strong understanding of Grade 6/7 Mathematics and English, including vocabulary, and be confident assisting with homework, revision, exam preparation and speeches. Strong study skills, organisational abilities and the ability to provide structured, patient and individualised academic support are essential. Experience working with children with ADHD, anxiety, learning difficulties or other learning challenges is required, as is tutoring experience. A teaching qualification would be a significant advantage but not a deal breaker. We are looking for someone between 23 and 30 years old, with at least three years of relevant experience. Cooking ability would be an added advantage but also not a deal breaker.
Start Date and Contract Term: January 2027 – permanent
