MTS's client in the Mining sector is looking for a Project Manager on contract. The objective for this role is to lead and manage the successful delivery of a large-scale HR data management project within the mining sector, focusing on Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes. Ensure accurate migration, integration, and transformation of HR data across multiple systems while maintaining compliance, data integrity, and security standards. Candidates need to have experience in data management projects, preferably in HR and/or mining industry. Key criteria for this role is experience in Denodo and related environments.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, HR Technology, or related field.
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile).
- 5+ years’ experience in data management projects, preferably in HR and/or mining industry.
- Experience in Denodo and related environments.
- Strong project management skills (PMBOK or Agile methodologies).
- Expertise in ETL processes and data migration strategies
- Knowledge of HR systems and mining industry HR practices
Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets for HR data migration and ETL processes.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including HR, IT, Data Engineering, and external vendors.
Data Management & ETL
- Oversee design and implementation of ETL workflows for HR data (employee records, payroll, benefits, and training).
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with mining industry regulations and labour laws.
- Manage data cleansing, validation, and reconciliation activities.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as primary liaison between HR leadership, IT teams, and business units.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to senior management.
Risk & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations (e.g., POPIA) and internal governance standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to data integrity and system integration.
Technology & Tools
- Work with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS) and HR systems (SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, or similar).
- Collaborate on database management (SQL, data warehouses) and reporting solutions.
