Ergasia Placements is recruiting an experienced and driven HR Officer on behalf of a dynamic organisation operating within a fast-paced contact centre environment.
This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on HR professional with strong experience across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, HR administration, and employee engagement.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • Relevant Human Resources Degree or Diploma.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as an HR Officer or HR Generalist (internship experience will not be considered).
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end bulk recruitment in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong Employee Relations experience, including disciplinary, grievance, incapacity, and performance management processes.
  • Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation, including the BCEA, LRA, and EEA.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Experience within a call centre or contact centre environment will be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment, Selection & Onboarding

  • Manage the full recruitment process from advertising and screening through to appointment and onboarding.
  • Conduct interviews, coordinate assessments, and complete pre-employment checks.
  • Draft and maintain job descriptions and recruitment advertisements.
  • Coordinate onboarding documentation and employee records.
  • Manage learnerships, internships, and youth development programmes.

Employee Relations

  • Provide HR guidance and support to employees and management.
  • Coordinate disciplinary hearings, grievances, incapacity processes, and poor performance management.
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide trend analysis and recommendations.

Performance Management

  • Manage probation reviews and support performance management initiatives.
  • Ensure fair and consistent application of performance improvement processes.

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with labour legislation, company policies, and HR best practices.
  • Manage HR queries professionally and within required service levels.
  • Prepare and maintain HR reports and workforce statistics.

Employee Engagement & Wellness

  • Support employee wellness and engagement initiatives.
  • Drive activities that promote a positive and high-performing workplace culture.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance employee experience and organisational effectiveness.

Reporting & Business Support

  • Compile and analyse HR reports and metrics.
  • Support workforce planning, talent acquisition, retention, and organisational development initiatives.
  • Partner with management to drive people-related business objectives.
