Nelspruit Area – Mpumalanga: Our client is looking for a Key Account Manager-Sales to join the team.
The Key Account Manager is to grow revenue by managing the planning and sales of a range of sub-tropical fruit product lines to the company’s current retail and wholesale customer base within South Africa as well as develop new markets
Only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  •  Relevant tertiary qualification in business and sales, Supply Chain Management of Fresh Produce, Commerce, or similar.
  • An added qualification in Agriculture or FMCG would be beneficial
  • Five years’ experience in a similar role of procurement and/or sales and/ or operations planning in an FMCG company specifically fresh fruit products.
  • Experience in supplier and customer evaluation (technical, social, compliance, market audits)
  • Resilient to aggressive competition and continuously changing market dynamics.
  • High standard of excellence and attention to detail.
  • Ability to:
    • Think analytically and problem solve effectively across all areas of the commercial channel
    • Motivate self and create a motivating environment to drive execution and make things happen
    • Work autonomously and to be flexible to internal and external environmental changes and complexities
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate activities with all relevant parties
    • Ability to multitask and manage multiple occurrences at any one time that could be occurring anywhere along the supply chain
    • Commercially minded and target driven
    • Deadline driven
    • Relationship building need to be a strong skill
    • Ability to influence, persuade, negotiate, resolve customer and grower problems
    • Build strong collaborative relationships both internally and externally
    • Use technology as a tool across the supply chain for smarter decision-making
    • Demonstrate high integrity.
  • May be required to work long hours in season and to be available out of normal work hours
  • Frequent travel will also be required and impact on normal working hours
  • Advanced practical knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is essential.
  • Experience in the sub-tropical fruit / fresh produce industry is required
 KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
 
Procurement and Sales Delivery
  • Build and manage cohesive relationships with procurement function to convey market requirements, pricing and other services based on the company’s value proposition.
  • Actively manage procurement and customer pricing
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers to implement best practices, meet and manage customer expectations and optimise demand-side requirements
  • Develop partnerships of loyalty and trust to ensure customers consider the company a supply partner of choice
  • Proactively develop and improve products and services, matching customer needs with Business offering
  • Develop and implement metrics and goals that continually drive performance improvement to ensure long term equity gains.
  • Actively drive grower supply through the company’s vertical business as well as for the SA Sales Desk. By partnering Grower with customer for best return and order fulfilment for all parties in the supply chain.
Logistics and Supply Chain Management for SA Sales Desk
  • In conjunction with the Commercial Manager implement logistics strategies and coordinate actions to positively influence the company’s brand and delivery standards
  • Continuously seek to improve logistics supply chain procedures and performance indicators for the SA Sales Desk
Financial Management
  • Benchmarking and market analysis to ensure optimal price for product
  • Manage the entire financial record keeping and process flow ensuring safety of company assets and accurate record keeping
  • Report to Commercial Manager on variances in budget or detected anomalies
Risk Management
  • Manage the risk around the brand and market awareness
New Business Hunter
  • Actively seek opportunities to bring grower and customers together across a wide range of fresh produce
  • Create new opportunities for the sale of produce from growers (both existing and new) seeking alternative market options for their produce and customers looking for these kinds of produce.
