Between George & Swellendam Area – Western Cape: Our client is looking for an Animal Nutrition and Pastures Sales Representative.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant qualification in Agriculture, Agronomy, Irrigation Sciences, or a related field e.g., B.Sc
- Proven experience in sales (at least 1 year), particularly in animal nutrition, pastures, fertilizer, or agricultural sectors.
- Strong knowledge of pastures on dairy farms and dairy lifecycle is essential.
- Existing network of contacts in the agricultural sector is advantageous.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Knowledge of animal nutrition products, with a willingness to expand into pasture and fertilizer sales.
- Ability to advise farmers on pasture nutrition (block advice can be taught).
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and sales skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO Client Engagement
- Manage the full 360° sales process, from identifying client needs to closing sales and providing post-sale support.
- Maintain and grow an existing client base while building new relationships with potential customers.
- Conduct field visits and build trust with clients by understanding their specific agricultural challenges.
New Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, ensuring the expansion of the company’s presence in the region.
- Develop strategic plans to grow market share and meet sales targets.
Product Expertise and Market Support
- Initially specialize in selling animal nutrition blocks, then progressively (within 2 years) shift towards fertilizer sales for dairy and sheep pasture management.
- Provide expert advice on pasture solutions as required.
- Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and emerging client needs to maintain a competitive edge.
Territory Management
- Organize sales activities to align with seasonal demands and customer segmentation.
- Ensure comprehensive coverage of the area, traveling extensively between George and Swellendam to meet with clients.
Reporting and Administration
- Accurately report client interactions and sales activities using the company’s CRM tools.
- Assist with stock management and forecasting to meet customer demand effectively.
