Malelane Area – Mpumalanga: Our client is looking for a Service Manager to join the team.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Technical Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma, Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Trade Certificate is essential)
  • Experience in a similar role: up to 5 years
  • Knowledge of the transport, logistics and agriculture industry both operationally and technically Ability to analyse and evaluate market trends
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Good relationship building skills
  • Innovative and lateral thinking
  • Experience of Preventative Maintenance and planning systems
  • Hands on management style
  • Data driven decision making skills
  • Independent
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Team player and ability to work in a dynamic team environment
  • Excellent reporting and presentation skills
  • Ability to research and study industry and related topics (environmental scanning)
  • Working knowledge of maintaining a large fleet comprising of trucks, trailers, yellow equipment and light vehicle in excess of 100 assets
  • Safety management experience (preferably NOSA)
  • World class operational experience (5S, 6 sigma etc.)
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
 
  • Expenditure Control - Expenditure is within budget - Ensure that General Manager and Line Manager are kept informed regarding expenditures - Appropriate corrective action regarding cost exceeding budget is timeously taken - Compile and review annual budget Monitor all workshop operations within areas of responsibility and ensure: - Vehicles are inspected after servicing and repairs - Quality standards are maintained - Vehicles are test driven after a service or a repair - Breakdowns are attended to timeously and breakdown analyses monitored to improve vehicle uptime - Quarterly fleet audits are conducted - Necessary arrangements are made when a vehicle accident or incident occurs - All legal requirements are complied with - The management of stores stock levels and the purchase of replacement parts and equipment - Stock checks are done randomly - Stock orders are signed - Close contact with suppliers of stock is maintained to ensure quality and service - Tyre maintenance standards are maintained, and spot checks are done - Weekly service schedules are compiled - The manage a service workshop which incorporates assets belonging to the Employer and / or Service Providers
 
  • Fleet disposal and purchases - Documents are checked for accuracy and the correct completion - Service board is updated daily - Manage the fleet maintenance programme - Manage the budget vehicle maintenance costs to acceptable levels - Monthly reports are submitted timeously, according to the prescribed format General / Adhoc - SHEQ management in the workshop environment - Workshop systems execution and efficiency (Evolve) - Technical assistance by investigating fuel consumption anomalies - Wearcheck sample management and execution - Warranty claims - Disciplinary management - Staff time and attendance management
