Do you have more than 5 years experience in supply chain and vendor management? Our client is looking for a seasoned professional with a knack for procurement and contract management in the manufacturing sector. This position is based at their operation in Saldanha Bay. The successful candidate is well versed in contract management and the tender process from the FMCG industry, who has an influential nature, and is methodical and strategic.
Minimum requirements:
  • BCom or relevant tertiary qualification.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar senior role, with experience in tender/ contract and vendor management.
  • Computer literate, with Advanced Excel skills.
  • Bilingual – Afrikaans and English.
  • Excellent communication skills on a strategic and operational level.
  • Resides in the Saldanha area or willing to relocate.
  • Prevent potential risks and interferences in the supply chain process.
  • Ensure compliance with quality control and assurance requirements in line with regulations.
  • An advantage would be knowledge or experience in the fishing industry (permits, quotas, laws, and regulations).
 
Duties and responsibilities:

Manage delivery of compliant, efficient, and cost-effective procurement process to procure best value goods and services:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements, corporate governance principles.
  • Maintain procurement and contract management procedures and practices.
  • Enforce adherence to Trading Terms and Conditions for all vendors.
  • Identify and timeously address problems and opportunities central to business success.
  • Conduct annual price reviews with suppliers and service providers.
  • Conduct annual review of strategic commodities and suppliers.
  • Investigate supplier issues, take appropriate actions, and ensure prevention.
  • Identify and manage implementation of pro-active continuous improvement actions.
 
Ensure efficient and optimised contract management and administration processes:
  • Compile and issue tender documents.
  • Evaluate tenders, write summary of facts and compile recommendation for award of contracts.
  • Review and approve motivations for contracts.
  • Ensure assessment of supplier capability prior to awarding contracts.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, awarding process and make suitable recommendations as well as to negotiate, draft and maintain contracts with strategic suppliers.
  • Ensure resolution of contract management issues.
  • Oversee contract maintenance and annual price escalation review.
Ensure compliant Vendor management and administration processes:
  • Manage vendors within legal compliance and business risk framework.
  • Ensure resolution of Vendor management issues.
  • Ensure completeness of vendor files and new applications approved timeously, including maintenance of vendor records, approval of banking detail changes, updating of B-BBEE status and site safety documents.
