Our client is looking for an experienced Draughtsman/ Technical Designer to join their company.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in drilling
  • Experience working with CAD
  • Knowledge of various Labour Programmes
  • Matric
  • Drivers License
  • A relevant qualification will be advantageous
  • Must reside in Port Elizabeth/ Uitenhage
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings and documentation.
  • Problem-solving abilities to resolve design issues and challenges
  • Sigmanest software 

Job Duties
Drawing Preparation:
  • Create detailed drawings, schematics, and plans for steel structures, including beams, columns, trusses, and frames.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Incorporate design specifications, dimensions, materials, and tolerances into drawings.
  • Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, building codes, and project requirements.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Review design sketches, concepts, and specifications to develop comprehensive drawings.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to address design changes, revisions, and feedback.
Technical Documentation:
  • Prepare technical documentation, including bill of materials (BOM), material specifications, and assembly instructions.
  • Maintain accurate records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
  • Organize and archive drawings and documents for future reference and retrieval.
Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
  • Review drawings for potential errors, inconsistencies, or clashes and make necessary corrections.
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications to meet project requirements.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in technology, and best practices related to steel fabrication and design.
  • Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge in drafting techniques and software applications.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in drawing production and workflow.
