Job Overview:
As a Junior Construction Manager within the solar industry, you will play a vital role in overseeing and managing the construction of solar energy projects from initiation to completion. You will work closely with senior construction managers, engineers, contractors, and various stakeholders to ensure projects are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, project management principles, and renewable energy technologies.

Opportunity for a JNR Construction Manager with solar and/or electrical industry experience to join an Engineering firm in Durbanville, Cape Town area

Minimum requirements:
- 1-2 years working experience within a solar and/or electrical industry
- Tertiary education in a relevant field would be highly beneficial
- Experience working on simultaneous projects/sites at a time
- Travelling to various sites (rotation of sites)
- Excellent communication skills on all levels
- Computer literate (emails and excel)
- Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and materials
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication, administration and follow-ups skills are needed
Duties will include but is not limited to:
The person will learn and be involved in the following:
1. Solar system design and Engineering:
a. Assist the Lead Engineer in the design and engineering of solar power systems, including photovoltaic (PV) arrays, inverters, storage systems, and electrical distribution.
b. Assist with developing and reviewing technical specifications, drawings, and calculations for solar projects.
c. Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and standards related to solar energy installations.
2. Assist in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for various projects.
3. Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
4. Support senior engineers in project planning, coordination, and execution.
5. Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
6. Participate in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
7. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
8. Involved in the after Sales
9. Programs (Software) - PV Syst, Helioscope, AutoCAD and Visio
