HEAVY DUTY TRUCK DRIVER

Cape Town: My client, a reputable supplier and hirer of industrial tools and equipment, seeks a dependable heavy-duty truck driver to support their busy operations team.

This role is reserved for candidates who currently reside in Cape Town

Purpose of the Role
To safely transport heavy equipment and machinery between sites, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to road safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To

• Operating a heavy-duty tilt tray truck to load, secure, transport and offload industrial equipment
• Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting any defects or maintenance requirements
• Ensuring compliance with all road safety and company operational procedures
• Completing accurate trip sheets, delivery notes and related documentation
• Assisting with loading/unloading and recovery operations when required
• Maintaining the truck and equipment in a clean, safe and operational condition

Criteria

• Valid South African Code EC (14) driver’s licence with valid PDP
• Forklift Operator licence
• Proven experience of at least 5 years driving heavy-duty trucks (8-ton or similar) 
• Strong knowledge of load securing and safe transportation practices
• Good driving record and track history
• Sober habits and high reliability
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
