ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Cape Town: My client, a leading Cape-based consulting engineering firm specialising in power distribution, building services and energy management, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their team.

An opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to apply their technical expertise across building services and electrical reticulation projects within a leading consulting engineering firm.

Purpose of the Role: To design and manage electrical building services and reticulation infrastructure projects, from concept through to implementation, ensuring technical excellence, quality and compliance.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Designing electrical reticulation networks for residential and industrial developments
• Managing HV, MV and LV power distribution systems, including infrastructure planning and assessments
• Designing building electrical services, standby power, UPS systems, lighting, earthing and lightning protection
• Integrating electronic systems, including fire detection, CCTV, access control, data/telecommunications and building management systems
• Overseeing projects from concept to completion, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance

Criteria

• BTech or BSc/BEng Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5–7 years’ consulting engineering experience in building services and electrical reticulation
• ECSA registration as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng preferred, or progress towards professional registration
• Strong engineering design and analysis software skills
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail, professional integrity and commitment to quality
• -High level of English proficiency and good business-level Afrikaans proficiency
