Minimum Requirements:
- Driver’s License and own vehicle.
- Willingness to travel to sites within Africa.
- Estimating experience in the industrial/mining sector.
- Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of EPC and EPCM estimating techniques.
- Commercial and contractual knowledge.
- Site experience.
- Familiarity with FIDIC, NIC, and JBCC suite of contracts.
Roles and Responsibilities:Estimating:
- Support senior estimators as required.
- Prepare, review, and submit accurate project estimates.
- Develop estimating plans.
- Develop Basis of Estimate (BOE) documents.
- Provide inputs into project schedules as required.
- Identify areas for improvement within the estimating team.
- Understand estimating scope of work, deliverables, schedules, and reporting formats.
- Apply contingency and contingency allowances appropriately.
- Develop cash flow, escalation, and FOREX forecasts.
Procurement:
- Manage vendor communication prior to contract placement.
- Prepare and issue RFQ (Request for Quotation) documentation.
- Develop contract documents for inclusion in enquiries.
- Develop Bills of Quantities in conjunction with Quantity Surveyors.
- Participate in tender adjudication, including commercial and contractual evaluation.
- Prepare Tender Evaluation and Adjudication Reports (TEAR).
Database:
- Improve and maintain the in-house estimating database.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with internal estimating standards.
- Assist in developing estimating guidelines and templates.
Contract Management:
- Maintain familiarity with contract documents throughout project execution.
- Draft and revise contracts in conjunction with Project Controls Manager.
- Advise and guide Project Controls Manager regarding contract matters.
- Prepare draft contractual correspondence.
Administration:
- Filing and document support.
- Take meeting minutes.
- Assist with document control.
