A well-established manufacturer of speciality chemicals is seeking the above to lead a sales team by providing guidance, training and mentorship, setting sales quotas and goals, creating sales plans, analysing data, assigning sales territories and building their team.

Minimum requirements for the role:
  • Must have a B. Com. in Sales and Marketing
  • National Diploma in Food Sciences is advantageous
  • Minimum 5 years’ hands on commercial experience in a sales environment is essential
  • Must have a good financial management understanding as well as report writing skills
  • Computer literate and must have advanced MS Office training
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing regional and local sales staff.
  • Planning and directing staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and service programs.
  • Directing and coordinating activities involving sales of products and services.
  • Managing all administrative requirements relating to sales.
  • Assisting with resolving customer complaints regarding sales and service.
  • Monitoring customer preferences to determine the focus of sales efforts.
  • Reviewing operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability.
  • Managing product introduction, new product development, customer satisfaction and centricity, and negotiating supply agreements.
  • Managing existing contracts and supply agreements.
  • Preparing annual sales budgets, monthly forecasts, and monthly sales reports.
  • Managing and growing export opportunities with the sales team.
  • Managing sales targets and the impact of exchange rates on profitability.
  • Managing the development of new products and the supply chain into new markets.
  • Determining price schedules and discount rates.
  • Preparing budgets and approving budget expenditures.
  • Managing working capital.
  • Effectively setting targets and managing/training staff.
  • Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
