A well-established manufacturer of speciality chemicals is seeking the above to lead a sales team by providing guidance, training and mentorship, setting sales quotas and goals, creating sales plans, analysing data, assigning sales territories and building their team.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Must have a B. Com. in Sales and Marketing
- National Diploma in Food Sciences is advantageous
- Minimum 5 years’ hands on commercial experience in a sales environment is essential
- Must have a good financial management understanding as well as report writing skills
- Computer literate and must have advanced MS Office training
- Must have a valid driver’s license
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Overseeing regional and local sales staff.
- Planning and directing staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and service programs.
- Directing and coordinating activities involving sales of products and services.
- Managing all administrative requirements relating to sales.
- Assisting with resolving customer complaints regarding sales and service.
- Monitoring customer preferences to determine the focus of sales efforts.
- Reviewing operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability.
- Managing product introduction, new product development, customer satisfaction and centricity, and negotiating supply agreements.
- Managing existing contracts and supply agreements.
- Preparing annual sales budgets, monthly forecasts, and monthly sales reports.
- Managing and growing export opportunities with the sales team.
- Managing sales targets and the impact of exchange rates on profitability.
- Managing the development of new products and the supply chain into new markets.
- Determining price schedules and discount rates.
- Preparing budgets and approving budget expenditures.
- Managing working capital.
- Effectively setting targets and managing/training staff.
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
