A dynamic financial services company, with offices in Germiston (hybrid-working), is looking for an experienced Accountant to join their team. Successful candidate will be fluent in both Afrikaans and English. 

The role would entail a variety of responsibilities with a special focus on preparing financial statements on the accounting software Caseware as well as submitting tax returns and dealing with SARS queries.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records, including bookkeeping, reconciliations and journal entries
• Prepare and analyse annual financial statements and reports on Caseware
• Assist with budget preparation and forecasting
• Maintain compliance with tax laws and regulations
• Submit tax returns including Income Tax, VAT and EMP returns and handle tax queries independently
• Assist with audits and other financial reporting requirements
• Submit CIPC returns and perform any related CIPC duties
• Perform any other duties required that could be expected from the position

Requirements: 

• Degree in Accounting or Finance with completed articles (SAICA / SAIPA)
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in an auditing or accounting practice (negotiable if articles are signed off)
• Proficient in tax and experience with solving SARS queries (non-negotiable)
• Proficiency in Caseware software (non-negotiable)
• Proficiency in accounting software (Sage Evolution and Sage Accounting) and Microsoft Office
• Experience with SARS e-filing submissions and dealing with SARS queries (non-negotiable)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
