Opportunity Available! Our leading client in the Automotive sector is looking to employ a Training Officer to join their team in East London.
Job Description:
- Develop a competency assessment check sheet per “job” station
- Conduct competency assessments after training
- Plan, communicate and conduct annual competency assessments as per HR procedure
- Provide feedback on competency assessments done and indicate where additional training is needed
- Notify Department Head should the employees ROP be increased based on assessment done
- Identify the “Gap” in skill matrix in order to improve the plant overall skills level, ensuring that there are adequate
trained personnel available for each station.
- Facility & control the “On the Job” training, recording books, in order to identify training that was conducted and whether skills matrix were not updated
- Ensure the skill matrix is updated and available on the Department boards
- Maintain employee Personal File with training documents, assessments. Training documents and assessments to be
filed timeously, ensuring that the employee’s personal file are always up to date.
- Reconcile training record versus the skill matrix
- Assess new employees performance, based on the on-the-job training.
- Conduct competency checks and identify gaps in skills required.
- Analyze & assess works instruction & procedures.
- Develop Training material, including but not limited to, works instructions, training manuals & presentations.
- Co-ordinate the updating & administration of departmental skills matrix for all departments.
- Co-ordinate all multiskilling activities
- Develop, plan, and facilitate the on-the-job training and relevant competency assessments of employees.
- Administer and facilitate identified on-the-job training requirements.
- Co-ordinate and conduct training activities in full compliance of the Company QMS.
- Update learner management systems, including new customer requirements.
- Assist in delivering on the annual training plan where applicable.
- Generate and distribute relevant weekly, monthly and annual training reports.
- Any other ad hoc duties as required.
Job Requirements:
- NQF 4 qualification or Industrial/Mechanical Engineering Diploma, or Mechanical/Electrical Trade Test.
- 5 – 10 year’s experience as Training Officer in an Automotive Component Manufacturing Company.
- Assessor Qualification
- Train-the-Trainer qualification.
- Facilitation qualifications would be advantageous.
- Working knowledge of processes in an Automotive manufacturing environment.
- Computer literacy: MS Word, MS Power Point & MS Excel intermediate level.
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills and ability to convey information across to others.
- Above average of written and verbal communication.
- Ability to take initiative, have good problem solving skills, excellent time management and able to work independently.
