Primary Function

The Finance Manager role requires a proactive and commercially minded professional with strong accounting knowledge and strategic insight. You will drive financial performance, strengthen governance, and support long-term growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Manage financial reporting
  • Review management accounts
  • Oversee closing processes
  • Ensure accurate financial records
  • Monitor cash flow

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Lead budgeting processes
  • Prepare financial projections
  • Monitor expenditure
  • Analyse variances
  • Support financial planning

Financial Analysis

  • Provide financial insight
  • Develop financial models
  • Monitor performance
  • Analyse costs
  • Present reports to management

Compliance and Governance

  • Ensure compliance
  • Oversee VAT calculations
  • Coordinate audits
  • Maintain financial controls
  • Support risk management

Operational Finance

  • Oversee billing and payments
  • Manage fixed assets
  • Monitor expenditure
  • Support procurement
  • Improve processes

Team Leadership

  • Provide guidance
  • Allocate workloads
  • Develop team members
  • Promote accountability
  • Ensure accuracy

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, 5-8 years experience, 3 years in a senior role, budgeting and forecasting experience.

Preferred Requirements

Honours degree, professional qualification (CIMA, SAIPA), technical sector experience.

Technical Skills

Advanced Excel, financial modelling, ERP systems, tax knowledge.

Key Competencies

Strong leadership, analytical, detail-oriented, strategic, communication, integrity, organisational skills.
