A leading building contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Bramley Park, Sandton.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on QS who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, working across a portfolio of small to medium-sized building projects where strong commercial control, attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple building projects.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
• Measure work completed and prepare valuations and payment certificates.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs against budgets and identify potential cost overruns.
• Assist with procurement, tendering and subcontractor appointments.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting to the Divisional QS Manager.
• Work closely with Site Agents, Contracts Managers, Foremen and project teams.
• Maintain strong commercial relationships with clients and subcontractors.
• Ensure projects remain commercially controlled from commencement through to completion.

Requirements

• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification.
• 3–5+ years' experience in building construction.
• Experience working on small to medium-sized building projects.
• Strong subcontractor and commercial management experience.
• Good knowledge of construction contracts, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Strong Excel and general computer skills including CCS
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, organisational and negotiation skills.
• Must be proactive, commercially minded and able to work independently.

Location: Bramley Park, Sandton, Gauteng
