Contract Manager / Senior Site Agent – Leading Building Contractor | Cape Town

This is a senior leadership position suited to a highly experienced construction professional who has worked for one of the larger Grade 9GB construction companies and has a proven track record managing complex projects.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Building Science or a related field
• SACPCMP registered
• Minimum 10 years’ construction experience
• At least 10 years’ experience with one of the larger Grade 9GB construction companies
• Previous experience in a Senior Site Agent / Contracts Manager capacity
• Strong experience managing Commercial, Industrial and Multi-Storey Building Projects
• Excellent understanding of construction methodologies, programme management and project delivery
• Strong NEC and JBCC contract management knowledge
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors, consultants, clients and professional teams
• Strong commercial, contractual and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of assigned projects
• Lead and manage site teams, subcontractors and professional consultants
• Manage project programmes, budgets, quality and resources
• Administer NEC and JBCC contracts effectively
• Monitor project progress and ensure contractual obligations are met
• Manage variations, claims, extensions of time and contractual correspondence
• Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards
• Provide strong leadership from project commencement through to completion and handover

The Ideal Candidate

• We are looking for a senior construction professional who has operated at a high level within a major Grade 9GB contractor. You will be commercially astute, contractually strong and capable of taking full ownership of complex building projects.
