The Construction Manager has overall responsibility for the assigned project(s) from an operational perspective. The projects managed by this position contribute directly to building and demonstrating the brand value proposition of Atuba Construction. This position is the primary point of contact for members of the public, clients, construction supervisors, sub-contractors, the professional team, and any other stakeholders and hence there is a strong requirement for excellent communication skills, both written and oral, as well as for a level of Intellectual and Emotional Intelligence that reflects the ability to present oneself and interact successfully with a wide and diverse range of individuals and organizations. Accordingly, the incumbent is also expected to have astute Relationship Management skills and operationally be exceptionally well versed in all Construction disciplines with particular emphasis on Health, Safety, and Environment requirements, Cost & Management Control, Reporting and Tracking, and Risk Management. Strong leadership skills and presentation are considered a base requirement for this position, with focused and professional people management skills. Furthermore, the Construction Manager needs to form a strong bond with the Quantity Surveyor, who is a key part of the team and jointly carry responsibility for the execution and delivery of the operational and bottom-line financial success of the project.
