GENERAL FOREMAN
Building Projects | Stellenbosch & Cape Town

A well-established building contractor is looking for an experienced General Foreman to join their team and take responsibility for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of building projects across Stellenbosch and the Cape Town area.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate daily site activities and construction teams.
• Supervise subcontractors and ensure work is completed according to programme and specifications.
• Coordinate labour, materials, plant and equipment on site.
• Monitor construction progress and maintain production targets.
• Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the project.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Work closely with the Site Agent and Contracts Manager.
• Identify and resolve site-related challenges efficiently.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping.
• Ensure construction activities are completed within programme requirements.

Requirements

• 5–10+ years' experience as a General Foreman within the building construction industry.
• Proven experience managing commercial, industrial, residential or multi-storey building projects.
• Strong knowledge of building construction methods and sequencing.
• Ability to lead and manage large teams and multiple subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
• Excellent planning, coordination and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Relevant construction qualification or trade qualification will be advantageous.
